Privacy Policy

Vital ("the app", "we", "us") is a Home Screen widget app that displays your health and fitness data from Apple Health. This policy explains what the app accesses and how your information is handled. In short: your health data stays on your device. We do not collect it, store it on servers, or share it with anyone.

The health data you choose to share

With your permission, Vital reads data from Apple Health (HealthKit) — for example steps, sleep, heart rate, heart rate variability, active energy, distance, VO₂ max, and workouts. This works with any device or app that writes to Apple Health, including Apple Watch, Garmin, Whoop, Oura, Fitbit, Polar, and Coros.

Vital only reads the data needed to render the widgets you create. Vital never writes to Apple Health, and you can review or revoke access at any time in the Health app: Profile → Privacy → Apps → Vital.

How your data is used

Your Apple Health data is used solely to display the widgets and previews you build, and to calculate a sleep score from Apple Health's sleep-stage data. All of this processing happens on your device.

• We do not send your health data off your device.
• We do not use your health data for advertising or marketing.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your health data with any third party.
• We do not use your health data for anything other than operating the app's features for you.

Where your data is stored

Vital stores your widget designs and the most recent snapshot of your metrics locally on your device (including a shared container so the widget can display them). This information never leaves your device and is removed when you delete the app.

Vital has no user accounts, no login, and no cloud storage. We do not maintain a server that receives your information.

Analytics and tracking

Vital does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software. We do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not build a profile of you.

Purchases

Vital offers an optional paid upgrade (Vital Pro) through Apple's In-App Purchase system. All payments are processed by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment details, credit card number, or Apple Account information. Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

Children

Vital is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles information, we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
